2020 CONVENTION CALL

 

PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS OF IDAHO

 

FEBUARY 24th – February 27th, 2020

TO ALL PFFI AFFILIATES: You are hereby notified that pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution of the Professional Fire Fighters of Idaho, the 37th Convention of the Professional Fire Fighters of Idaho will be held at the Grove Hotel, 245 S. Capitol Blvd, Boise, Idaho, beginning at 8:30 a.m., Monday February 24, 2020 and will remain in session day-to-day until Convention business is completed.

REPRESENTATION: Local unions with a membership of ten (10) or less shall be entitled to one (1) delegate. Locals with a membership exceeding ten (10) shall be entitled to delegates as follows:

Dues are to be paid monthly prior to annual Conventions. If the following items are not provided to the PFFI Secretary/Treasurer, delegates will not be seated. 1. Dues through January must be paid.  2. Locals current contract in electronic format. 3. Locals current roster in Excel format. 4. Locals current Constitution & By-Laws & F.D. pay scale.

DELEGATES AND ALTERNATES: Delegates and Alternates attending the Professional Fire Fighters of Idaho Convention must be members in good standing of the local union represented.

DELEGATE CREDENTIALS: Credentials will be mailed beginning December 2nd to Locals who have paid per-capita through November 2019. The original credential shall be completed and held by the      delegate. The duplicate credential shall be completed and mailed to: PFFI Secretary/Treasurer, P.O. Box 2620, Pocatello, ID 83206 by January 15, 2020.

ALTERNATE CREDENTIALS: Upon presentation of proper credentials, Locals may send as many alternate delegates to Convention as they see fit. Alternate delegates may participate in discussion however have no vote. In the absence of seated       delegates, alternate delegates in the order of their certification shall be seated with voting power.

VOTES: In compliance with the recommendation of the PFFI Secretary/Treasurer, the number of votes to which a local union is entitled will be placed on the delegate credential in case of a roll-call vote.

REGISTRATION FEES: Locals failing to meet the deadline for submitting their credentials by the timeline listed (postmarked by January 15, 2020) will result in a $10 fee per delegate for late registration.

AMENDMENTS AND CONVENTION RESOLUTIONS: Amendments to the PFFI Constitution and By-Laws or resolutions for convention action may be submitted only by local unions, or by its Executive Board, or by the delegates at Convention as hereafter provided. Convention resolutions must be mailed to the PFFI Secretary/Treasurer at least forty-five (45) days prior to Convention. Late resolutions not meeting these requirements shall require a two-thirds (2/3) majority of the delegates to be considered and a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote for acceptance. All such amendments and resolutions, accompanied by a summary statement prepared by the PFFI Secretary/Treasurer of the estimated costs for any resolution, which in his judgment involves cost factors, shall be sent to each member Local thirty (30) days prior to each Convention.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS: The Grove Hotel has been selected as the Convention Hotel. Phone: 1 (888) 961-5000. The Standard single room rate is $129 per night and a double is $129 per night. To guarantee your hotel room, reservations must be received by the hotel by January 31, 2020. Any requests for reservations made after that date will be subject to availability.
